Access kids book catalog; login to catalog using Volta Library web page; locate books related to reading needs.

Author Study Units
Learn about famous children books authors and illustrators; use author websites; use the database teachingbooks.net; read multiple books by authors; art activities related to the authors
Learn biographical facts about the authors; understand the roles and contributions made by the authors and illustrators; recognize the artistic and literary style of each author/illustrator.
All students will begin checking out library books the first week of school. Kindergarten students will keep their book in their classroom until the classroom teacher chooses to begin to send the library book home. Kindergarten and first grade students will borrow one book at a time. Second graders will borrow two books at a time for a two week period. Students with even one overdue book will not be able to check out until book is returned or renewed. Please contact the librarian if you have questions.

Todos los estudiantes comenzarán a llevar los libros de la biblioteca la primera semana de clases. Los estudiantes de jardín de infantes (kinder) mantendrán su libro en su aula hasta que el maestro opte por comenzar a enviar el libro de la biblioteca a casa. Los estudiantes de kinder y primer grado tomarán prestado un libro a la vez. Los alumnos de segundo grado tomarán prestados dos libros a la vez por un período de dos semanas. Los estudiantes con un solo libro atrasado no podrán tomar prestado más libros hasta que el libro sea devuelto o renovado. Comuníquese con el bibliotecario si tiene preguntas.

In addition to the planned library curriculum collaborative lessons with classroom teachers will occur throughout the year. Please contact the librarian if you have questions.
